Canmore Highland Games Massed Band 2017
Eight pipe bands braved the smoke-covered mountains of Canmore, Alberta, Canada to participate in the 2017 Canmore Highland Games and perform in the Massed Band.

Participants of the first week of Piping Hot Summer Drummer camp finished up the week by marching into the village at SilverStar Mountain and playing for everyone. Students came from all over the world and ranged in age from about six to 83 years old!

We met him at the Pipes & Sticks on 66 concert in Flagstaff, possibly where you saw him. He is also an amazing snare drummer! I am a drummer who has recently got into piping, but I will never reach a fraction of his level, even if I have multiple lifetimes.

I live in Tucson AZ. One day I was sitting in my truck listening to Stuart Liddell on bagpipes when to my amazement roadrunners (a bird native to the American Southwest) began landing on the roof and hood of the truck. Apparently Stuart is a hit with these eccentric birds. 🤣🤣
You can have the fastest fingers in the world and produce no music! That rendition of the Masons apron and others is a gimmick he likes to pull of for the Americans, you never hear him play like that back home playing for the Duke and Scottish Lords at Inveraray Castle. . Don’t be so fast to jump out your seats next time ! Awesome it ain’t!!
Good thing there were no Dukes or Scottish Lords (I assume you meant Lairds) in the audience then... He was playing to his audience who weren't royalty, weren't in a castle or in America. And the audience (which included lots of kids) thought it was pretty awesome.
